DT200 Windscreen
« on: November 24, 2019, 04:20:38 PM »
I need to replace the original windscreen on my 2012 DT200.  The Kymco part # is 64220-LEA7-E00 and I can find it online for around $90.  However, I did see a Givi windscreen on their website for $180 and looks larger than the OEM one.  Givi also only lists it fitting DT300 but I think it should be the same?

Has anyone have any experience with the Givi windscreen?

No response in this bunch means no one knows! I like the shape of the standard windscreen but the material is too soft. Polycarbonate like Givi and Puig would be better IF they offered a standard cut.

Since I look for comfort and no buffeting going down the road----have spent money on both Puig and Givi for maxi scooters---both are good----and come too tall for safe look over going down the road and have to be cut down----little experience here, on 11th maxi scooter since 1990---over 400,000 miles with them---cut down Puig Touring on my current XTown 300i---Laminar Lip added, bolted on----about as good as you are going to get with maxi-scooter and nose being so far from tip of shield.

As to DT 200, from pictures it uses same Kymco simple mounting as DT300, both bodies appear to be same size----so the Givi should work.....attach cut down after mounting and making sure of size/cut.   Good luck and enjoy the comfort, especially in the cold/wet.

Thanks to all.  I am just wondering about anyones experience with the larger screen.  I will most likely stick the OEM as I plan on selling this scoot next summer so don't want to invest too much.  So far in the riding I was able to do before snow, the screen seemed ok, it is just badly yellowed and peeling.

On my Vespa's I have the Faco Twin screens which work quite well.

Look at the pics I posted... I  have  the larger screen. You have seen my seat cushion... it raises me up 2.5" and the larger screen becomes the perfect height. Without the extra height, it would be slightly too tall for me... and I am 6ft. That said...its great! I'm pretty sure the 200i and 300i body are the same. If there's anything you'd like me to measure, just ask. I'll post a picture later
