Yager Service Manual Idea!
« on: October 02, 2010, 10:51:29 AM »
I bought a Harley and Gold Wing set of maintenance CDs for those bikes, sold commercially and legally, by knowledgeable techs. There should be some trained Kymco techs or very experienced Yager "wrenches" out there who could do that and maybe make some money. Check out "fix my hog" and "Angelfire" videos for what I'm talking about.

Disclosure: I am not related to any of those who produced the mentioned videos, and do not receive anything to advertise them. I paid around $100 for each set!

They were very useful to work on my other bikes, including  good quality video step by step instructions, factory specs, torque settings, capacities, and helpful tips.

The reason why such things do not exist for Kymco scoots (or any other scoots) is economic.

It does not pay off.

Try comparing sales volume of Harleys and Kymco scoots in USA, lifespan of Harley motorcycle vs. Kymco scoot and the level of customization achieved for Harleys vs. Kymcos.

Scoots are tupperware things that are usually discarded after a few years, Harleys have a solid fan base and their price, if customized, goes up with time.

This is the reason why such manuals do not exist: it requires significant investment with return on investment that is highly doubtful. Otherwise, it would already exist. :) :) :)

axy,

Unfortunately what you said is right on. I was hoping some qualified person would get fired up, grab the video camera and go to their garage to make some videos. On my next birthday, I will wish for that before blowing out a lot (way too many) of candles!!!
