K-Pipe
« on: October 07, 2019, 06:07:30 PM »
I was as my local dealer and they have a nearly new used one for cheap $$, I may even be able to barter for it.  Tell me about them,  my second motorcycle 45 years ago, was a Honda CB125S,  very similar specs, so 60mph top speed is known

I am intrigued by the "semi-automatic transmission"

Sounds like a good deal.  If you liked the 125 Honda, you should like the K-Pipe.  take a test ride.

becoming more interested in purchasing a k-pipe,  my V-strom 1000 is kinda cumbersome for some local errands, but has long legs for the highway and good manners on gravel.

the price is right, for sure, and I might be able to get my GF into one as well, because of the semi automatic shifter

how would one hold up to a 275lb rider ?

Easy bike to ride. Most people overestimate it based on it's looks, but are surprised by the ride.

I weight about 265 and my '16 tolerates me. 3500 miles and still trooping along.

stopped by the dealership for other reasons today, but took a closer look at the k-pipe,  battery was dead cause someone left the key on, but started right up with only a half as kick, wasn't even trying to start it, just trying to get my leg in a good position to get a good kick on the kick starter.  It has just under 4500 miles, a 2016. some rash on the exhaust, but no other visible damage

I'm ready to pull the trigger, just want to know the final tally for my V-strom that is in their shop right now, and I still haven't done my final billing on the work I am doing for the owner, kinda hoping to walk away with the repairs on my Vee, and the K-pipe, for barter

looks like I'm gonna get the K-pipe, currently, I am doing some environmental consulting for the owner of the dealership, a few finishing touches on my final report, when I go in to negotiate the $$/barter (I'm going to end up being the one with a positive cash flow in this deal)

dealer delivered it to my house today, along with my V-strom that has been in the shop for new fuel pump and front brakes

I was planning on riding it home, but they were delivering my V-strom anyway and it's snowing

but once I got it at my house, a little snow didn't deter me from taking a short ride
