Paid 46 cents for a gallon of gas today
« on: April 30, 2020, 05:33:40 PM »
Of course the price of gas spiked over night - yesterday I would have paid $.14 (14 cents) for a gallon of regular.
My grocery card dropped the price of a gallon of gas $1.00. Some months I paid $70 to fill up my truck.
Driving much less these days.

$3.24 today filled my truck for the month of April.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I think it's time for me to visit you, Stig. You got enough room to park my (borrowed) tanker truck? It's only 8.5  by 75 feet. Then we can have a pump party the day after my arrival. You gotta couch I can crash on?

My daughter said I should go buy a bunch of gss cans.
But, they're not cheap....and don't want to keep a bomb in the garage.

That would be around 25 USD in Croatia.
Can't see too many 5.0 liter gasoline trucks on the roads around here.

I found this to be a cheaper bulk storage option than 5 gal cans and less of a safety concern.

don't you have to build a containment structure, then put a roof over it so the containment don't fill up with rainwater ?

does gas in a big tank go stale like it does in a vehicle/equipment fuel tank ?

I was thinking of getting a big tank for K-1

Have had these same thoughts for years to feed all my toys. I go thru about 100 gallons a month if I am able to pkay alot. It isnt all play, typically 12-15 gal per month for grassmowing 30-40 gal in boat, yep that puts food on the table so a necessity, lawn trimmers, utv, chain saw, and all that misc stuff.  Winter time doesnt take much, but long term storage can be a problem.  I am told not to store for more than 3 months or it will degrade noticibly.  Small quanities are about 6 months because you can add fresh to the old and it wont be noticible.  Next problem is home insurance....most polocies limit to 5-10 gal MAX on premisus.  I pay an extra fee for all the toys ( fuel using) as I typically have 35 gallons or more of fuel in my equipment at one time in one bldg.  Bug brother is gonna get ya, one way or another!!

It's a stand alone unit but I would keep it under a shed roof for protection from the elements. I only use non-ethanol which ran perfectly in my carbed scoot even after siting for 28 months in the fuel tank.
