Ground control to Major Tom....
« on: May 13, 2020, 11:22:32 AM »
Village is doing masks these days, so I just drop my modular helmet closed upon entering the coffee shop.
"Hey, it's Space Man!".....and they had a good laugh.

"No, it's 'Major Tom', please" I said.
I thought Dino was going to wet his pants....
So, that's it.
I'm "Major Tom" from now on.

Kinda like the of sound of that...

Good news here as well the Romeo rides are going to start up tomorrow with a ride to Lucas Kansas  about a hour and a half away.  Gas up one of the 500's and stretch its legs. The nice part of the ride is going by two lakes on the way Kanopolis and Wilson Reservoir.  Little hole in the wall restaurant with home cooked food.

The big factor is if the weather holds out. I know some of you are hardy souls and wouldn't mind rain gear but just not fun for me to take a long ride in rain.
In parts 200S and Grand Vista and my motorcycles 2 CS BMW'S and one GS BMW.

Let's hope your story ends better than Bowie's Major Tom.

"And the papers want to know whose shirts you wear"
My favorite shirt was always a TERN.
(good luck finding one of those these days - a fine British shirt, light blue, - worn with my tailored Harris Tweed jacket, wool slacks and oxblood wingtips)

I might have doubted my memory …..if I hadn't found this. Amazed that I correctly recalled the name of a shirt from 1965.

Just watched a  (Escape to the country ) show and they profiled one of the largest blue jeans mfg in UK that had also gone out of business. A person started the company back up making jeans just not as many. They said at one time or another most people in town had sewed blue jeans.  Very interesting how some are resurrecting business.

Very true. If it’s an iconic name with marketing kudos it will likely get recycled! Famous biking examples being Triumph, Norton,Royal Enfield etc.

Just looked up the info HIUT jeans in the Welsh town of Cardigan.  The old company made 35,000 jeans a week the new company 120 a week. The jeans are hand made taking 1 hr 10 min to produce compared to 11 minutes for a automated production. They are also hand signed by the person that made them.
