Nervous ride out for coffee
« on: June 09, 2020, 10:44:52 PM »
just after I rode through town, here this morning.....

...it dawned on me that I had forgotten something.

I left the tire patch and inflation kit in the other scooter! Thought about that all the way out for coffee.

That settles it - can't rely on my memory for everything when I get up so early - will go on amazon or ebay and pick up kits for the LIKE.

I've had 3 flats on 3 scooters - only the Burgman missed out.

I am lucky to not have had a flat yet. I have driven 16,000 miles on 2 tires. I drove them until they were about 1.5-2mm thick for the extra miles(feel free to criticize, I deserve it), but was very careful of what I rode on.

Never leave home without a kit these days.  Just HATE idling by the side of the road waiting for help.

I carry patch kits on the bicycle but what is best used for tubeless? I don't want to take tire levers with me.

Yes.  "met-in".  What's up with that?

I've used this one twice - both tires holding air 100%.

Thanks for the links.
I also carry a simple $8 Slime kit which has the worms....in case my puncture is at a severe angle which might keep the mushroom head plugs from sealing. These mushroom head plugs work very well on a straight in puncture.

Never leave home without my Stop & Go tire plug gun kit and my MC has a 12V port for plugging in the air supply compressor I carry onboard.

if you guys see any hint of metal in your tire...do you immediately pull it out to see how deep it is? Do you ever let it ride?..as in..hmmm, tire hasn't lost any air in the 3  months since I noticed it....(asking for pure hypothetical reasons only...of course..)

Once spotted a screw in the rear while 50+ miles from home.  No apparent loss of pressure so rode it home (carefully) and then removed the offending item and plugged the tyre.  Went on for 000's of miles like that!
