Super 8 150 Ground Clearance?
« on: July 14, 2020, 12:27:48 AM »
Anyone know the ground clearance on a Super 8 150? If not, anyone out there who has one care to take a tape measure and tell me how much clearance between the ground and the bottom of the footrest?

Hey, that's not bad! My UXV 450 only has 10 inches ground clearance!

Might not it be best to go around those 7" rocks?

LOL. Absolutely! But it is nice to know the scoot would probably be able to navigate through a modest amount of debris. I was looking last night, and there are plenty of knobby off-road tires available in the size of the Super 8 tires. You could probably actually get around fairly well on one off-road. Not highly techical off-roading. I mean like farm lanes, relatively smooth trails through the woods, etc.

IDK if it's ever been done, but an off-road competition on scooters would be a lot of fun. Give each competitor a stock scooter and let them make a few mods within certain guidelines that would apply to all and see what they could do. It would either be incredibly surprising or a disaster. Either way, that would be must-see TV!

And here's a guy on an Agility 50 doing more of what I had in mind. If you try and scoot off-road when it's wet and muddy that ain't gonna work!

The only time clearance was an issue for me was driving perpendicular to the furrows in a plowed field.

That is not off-roading but rather playing in a mud puddle, with a scooter.

I understand off road driving when you are talking about dirt, farm, and forest roads/trails when that is what is required for mobility, however, I do not approve of trashing equipment for fun. I have driven many miles of pine needled single and double track for the sake of getting to the destination rather than to see what I could drive through/over.
