Found a link to a manual - https://www.manualslib.com/manual/393386/Kymco-Agility-125.html?page=41#manual

Looks like 0.04mm is the go. I'll have a crack over the week

WARNING! That manual cover says agility 125 but it mixes the agility 50 and 125 specs. I would look through it careful. Also that is the manual that gave me the wrong info.

0.04MM is only 0.00157 inches which is way small. As per the last post 0.12mm to 0.004 inches is about right.

I wish kymco had a team read over the service manuals before printing. Decimal places and also metric vs standard can destroy an engine.
Become the best you can with what you have.

I and others have volunteered to both Kymco USA and Taiwan to help redo their manuals to no avail. Stig/Major Tom would be a jewel for the type and thourough visual presentations! Seems they are governed by Not Invented Here!

Thought I would pop back in and let you all know how this ended up.

As mentioned initially in the back of mind the only thing that had changed was the CDI. I grabbed one of those generic Chinese unrestricted CDIs and bang! running link a dream... put the old one back on and it was back to running like a 50cc again.

Thanks again for your help... its actually running better than ever after all the checks / adjustments along with the new CDI

Very interesting indeed. It looks like a faulty CDI can cause several symptoms.
Did these models also came with DC CDI’s ?
Life is a journey. Just spend some time, and enjoy the trip.
