A nice ride ruined....
« on: September 20, 2020, 04:35:05 PM »
My history of flats:
Forza was 1st, Rear cut, miles from home.
This one was rather expensive - required a new tire. (discovered my AAA did not cover 'recreational vehicles')

Then came the LIKE200i - Rear, returned and patched at home.

Then the LIBERTY150i, Front, miles from home - patched on the road (after my son fetched my kit)

Never had a flat on my Burgman.
I carry patch and inflation kits with me, always - and have roadside towing now.

FYI: both patches have been leak-free.

Your braver then I first flat the tire gets replaced, probably a unfounded fear of tire failure.  My ERS insurance covers every vehicle I own. As with any insurance I'm greatful if I never have to use it.

Just bought 3 sets of tires to put on scooters, 2 sets Pirelli angels and one set Michelin City grip. Will wait till Dan's Cycle isn't busy and run them down to him. All the tires I'm replacing look like new tread wise but have some signs of sidewall cracking from age.  Two scotes I bought this summer have new Michelin City Grip's.  Kind of funny to buy a rain tire when I avoid riding in the rain if at all possible.

Going to try a set of Shinko's on Orange since they will age out before they wear out.

Just came in from checking the tire pressure on a 500 RI that I plan on taking to Lindsborg for lunch. Rear was 30psi (36) front was 24 psi (29) was 105F when I picked the bike up in Texas this summer 65F this morning in McPherson.

Front tyre puncture Stig? Rarer than hen’s teeth! In my 50+ years of motorcycling, touch wood, I’ve never had one!
