Last evening in Alabama

I took a short ride on my Like last evening.

Snow in Alabama?



I was hoping for a colorful sunset.




A little more dirt road and I came to the spot where I would park and see what the sunset would be like.



I was there for a while. I took a bunch of pics from different angles.



I even changed the position of my scooter.

Beautiful colours Klav, a stunning sunset and well worth the wait.  Shame the vapour trails remind you of man's influence on the natural environment though?  Or is that just me?

The vapor trails don't bother me.  I was a pilot for over 30 years.  If I just wanted to show nature I wouldn't put my scooter in the picture either. 

As for the Sunset, it was just getting started. 

I thought this was as good as it was going to get and thought about taking off.



But then the sky started to glow red.



I figured that the glow would soon fade so I started heading home stopping at this spot I took an earlier pic.



So I headed for Home.

I should have waited.



This would have been even better over the Tennessee River.

I was heading out for coffee one morning, and saw this in my mirrors. Made a U-Turn and went back for a couple snaps.
Sitting at the patio of Tim Hortons years ago at sunrise - I saw a lot of cool vistas.
 
I also noted that often they also last only seconds!

This is true.  I go out and try to catch the sunset pretty often.  Its only once in a while that the clouds are just right for that spectacular sunset.  It's very hard to predict.  Sometimes the clouds look great for sunset but 20 minutes later when I get to my spot and the sun sets the clouds have moved and the sunset isn't anything special.  I didn't have great hopes for last night but I was wrong.

That's Mother Nature, always has the ability to surprise!
