I feel your concern KK, where I live (small Cheshire village, pop c1,000), the first wave of Covid-19 passed us by with no cases recorded any closer that 5 miles away. This time around there are near double figures that I know of and a couple are seriously ill in ITU. The larger area here is 5-600 cases per 100,000; but that means pro rata our village is close to twice that, not a good figure!
On balance, I'm with you, discretion is the better course!
