New-to-me People S 200 and why are parts so hard to find?

Hello,

Here's the gist: I'm trying to find out what parts are interchangeable, meaning how can I successfully search for parts for this 163cc scooter that doesn't seem to fit any standard engine size.

Longer version:
I recently picked up a 2009 People 2 with about 10,000 miles on it. I'm not new to scooters/motorcycles, as I have had a 2009 Genuine Buddy 150 and currently have a 2005 Yahmaha FZ6. I do all the maintenance on my scooters and cars, so I'm not a newbie to wrenching.

With that being said, I'm having a really difficult time trying to find parts for this scooter. It seems like I have to piecemeal an order from Scooterworks, Amazon, foreign websites, and a local dealer to find what I want, and I don't know if this is similar to what others have found.

I've always used https://www.scooterworks.com/ for parts for my Buddy, but their selection for Kymco is laughable.

I've also found this site: https://www.racingplanetusa.com/. They are in Europe, but they seem to have many parts for Kymco, even variators, brakes, and rollers, but I'm not familiar with many of their brands (such as Naraku, RMS, or Polini)
Also, some of the parts seems to be the wrong size, even though it's listed as compatible (such as this drive belt https://www.racingplanetusa.com/bando-kymco-scooter-replacement-belt-kymco-agility-like-200i-people-super-150cc-people-200cc-scooters-p-26087-1.html?backcPathco=284&cPath=2_16710#.XvTyFKZ7nIU, where it says the belt size is 781 X 20 X 30 belt, but other searches show that it's 795.5x20x30,

I'm having difficulty because, even though it's a 200, it's not, right, it's 163cc. Everything I find is either for 50cc, 125cc, 150cc, or 200+cc engines. I called Scooterworks and they said it's NOT the same as a 150cc GY6, and I've read through some threads that say it is. What's the deal?

I want to change the following:
-rollers (maybe try 12g, but I'm OK with sticking to stock 13g). I keep coming up with Dr. Pulley sliders, but what if I just want rollers?
-drive belt ( I know stock is 23100-LCD4-E0A) and I found it https://powersportsoutlet.com/drive-belt-like-200-people-200, but any other brands? Any other options? . I can't find it on Amazon, I've looked using many different search terms (do YOU have a link?)
-Brakes! This should be simple, but not! What is the front brake size, and why does every website says the People S 200 has rear disc! It doesn't, it's a drum brake. But what's the size??

Parts I've been able to find on Amazon: air filter (I believe these are interchangeable with other Kymcos?), spark plug (standard across many scooters), and the 12g Dr. Pulley sliders, and a front tire.

Thanks! I hope to learn a lot here and contribute, but I need to get parts before I do.

Yes, I agree that aftermarket parts are a challenge. The good news is that factory OEM parts are readily available. I have a 2010 S200 and have have replaced the rollers, belt, rear clutch/pulley (silly preventative maintenance that wasn't necessary), valve cover gasket, exhaust gasket, rubber battery hold down strap, etc.  with factory parts. My local Kymco dealer (also a full line motorcycle/powersports dealer) can order any OEM part I need.

We do share an oddball engine, the 163cc Kymco motor..I have never heard a good explanation as to where it fits in with the whole GY6 thing...or what are the specific differences between our engine and a typical 150cc GY6.

Regarding the rear discs...rear discs were available on our S200 in other markets. If you do a search online for S200 images you'll see a number of slight variations in the different markets where they were sold. Another challenge is that our scoots are getting older..not sure when they were discontinued..2011? 2012?...

I usually don't like to go through dealers because, based on my experience with local car and scooter dealers in CA, they charge SO much money for items that I shop online for parts. However, I did take a look at the dealer recommendations from Stig and I'm going to order from Solano Cycle in Orange Park, FL (Orange Park is where they complete all their online orders, FYI, not the other locations). Their prices were somewhat similar to other prices I've seen online, but it was all in one place, so that's where I'll be getting parts.

If you're curious, I'm ordering the following, which comes out to $150 plus shipping:
Drive belt
Rollers
Slider things that go near the rollers (there are 3)
Front and rear brakes (drums!)
spark plug
Air filter

I found a few online tutorials, and one great Youtube video, that show how to perform various maintenance on the People S 200.
Here's the Youtube video that shows a bunch of service items for Kymco scooters (brakes, belt, clutch, variator, lots of things, really cool!), but I think our scooter is a little more involved because it looks like we have to take off a lot of the body panels to access certain thing. Nevertheless, this video is still very clear.

here was the first info I found years ago on removing all the plastics and other things to get to your spark plug. Great tutorial.  If the link doesn't work (or just takes you to the blog home page you can type Kymco spark plug into the search box). The S200 is not initially easy to work on as you must remove a lot of stuff...but once you figure out how to remove it, it's not a big deal.

The first time I did this it probably took over an hour. I can strip it all down now in about 10 minutes.

just looked at the scooterpitstop rear brake one...very detailed and good! The only thing that's not needed is removal of the 2 lower side panel pieces and the belly pan..you can still access your header pipe bolts without removing those extra parts.
