New snow is nice , but afterwards.....
« on: February 25, 2021, 01:30:39 PM »
....the grey frozen slush is not.

Well, won't be going through here to use the 'facilities' at the Train Station. Local police don't mind seeing me cross over & parked on the bike path....but I don't test their patience by riding down it.

No riding this morning due to heavy frost overnight - leaving frozen puddles hidden in the dark > maybe even hidden from the Liberty's great headlight!
Patience.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

Just an observation Tom, but I think the black top box on this Like looks much better than the blue one you had as shown in a recent historic pic which you posted.  Also VERY impressed with the state of cleanliness of your scooters.  I am in awe of the way in which you keep them so pristine.  If ever you need a job this side of the pond...

Thanks, the blue top case is a stock item on all of the LIKEs - color matched to the body.
Since I was going to be work commuting in the dark - I added the Bestem case for one reason - to get more lights behind me.
It has a string of bright little LEDs as running lights - and the number of lights doubles when I apply the brakes (and a few more on top the lid light up as well)
Personally - I think the case is too large - but, for the money, I've never found anything with lighting as good as these Bestems. All-in, with a padded liner, and all the necessary mounting hardware, lights installed at the factory - price was @$140 shipped.
I paid nearly that much for the mounting plate on my Piaggio. (I did get lucky and snagged a rare custom paint-matched Piaggio case for my (RED) Liberty. The optional case for the Red Liberty was black - other colors of the Liberty had color-matched cases. SoCal Vespa dealer miss-ordered a few cases for their red Libertys. When unboxed - they were brown! - so they sent them out to be custom painted in the proper red.
Their paint job was superb....and the price was the same as for the black. I bought the last one (only one? - no one remembers) they had....and I've never seen a red Liberty with a matching top case.

"color matched" you say?  From memory it didn't look that good a match to me!

OK just looked again.  The colour is OK, I think it's a) there's too much of it because, b) the box looks very bulbous.  For my money the one you're using now is much better aesthetically!
