derestrict 2010 agility 50
« on: October 13, 2010, 08:14:39 AM »
hi all, great forum here, a mine of information!

i got my agility 50 the other day, brand new and was wondering how to go about getting it to go faster?

cutting the cdi seems the cheapest and easiest to start with but is it the same place to cut on the 2010 model as previous years?

also, i'm in scotland and its pretty cold and the scooter seems to take ages to get going, as if the choke is not the greatest, i have only done 50km, can anyone tell me whether this will improve as i run the scooter in or am i in for alot of aggro over the winter

thanks in advance!

Hey, congrats on your new agility50, fraggle and welcome to the forum! I'm not sure if they have made any changes on the 2010 model or if they are different in Scotland than in the U.S. Do you by chance know the model or part number of your CDI. Possibly a pic might help, too.

hi fraggle welcome you can tune the carb for colder weather to help the scoot run better IM in michigan u.s.a and it gets cold here in the winter but I keep my scoot tuned to the cold weather
year around its a little harder to start in worm weather but great in the cold fine tuneing the way you like can be a little difficult but worth it. good louck and welcome.

i will post a pic and more details of my cdi before i actually do 'the cut' but as its got less than 100km on the clock that might be a few weeks after i've run it in.....

blue, is there a link or detailed instructions you could point me to for tun ing the carb. i'd be really keen to do this as its not that cold yet and it was struggling and last winter was minus 10-14C, for all i know it's colder where you are but i think it does need some tweaking.....

not sure on that but maybe if you go to the search on this fourm you might find someting.
I had a kymco dealer do mine for me.the frist year I had my scoot he did not run to good in the cold
so while it was geting fixed I ask theam to fine tune the carb.and they did good.

Minus 10-14C

Not to worry - I've ridden in colder than that on a regular basis.

I haven't had the luck Blue has with getting the carb better adjusted to the weather.

For me it's just a matter of warming it up enough before you head out.  Not the most fun thing to do  - but I start it up and let it idle for a while.  Once warm, she'll run like a champ.

variator method of derestricting

could anyone confirm for the 2010 model whether there is a loose ring between the pulleys that can simply be removed or whether i need a new drive face spacer

thanks

Hi, fraggle. I found a post where someone had success cutting a notch in the CDI on their 2010 agility 50.

Not sure about the variator yet.
