Welcome to the forum!
Running no more than Kymco's recommended PSI in the front tire is a good starting place.
Is this you first scooter?

I've noticed that as well on just about all scooters I've owned. I noticed it going over railroad crossings. The only thing I can think of is the weight distribution of a scooter and spring rates in the forks.

I think heavier scooters have a better ride. Or, maybe it is that the big three Japanese brands put a little more effort ($ & engineering) into their more expensive scooters?
First thing I noticed about my nearly 500lb Suzuki Burgman was that it rode like a Buick, compared to my LIKE200iLX 😊... (and yet -- old Burgman owners still complained about the ride!!)

I have XTown 300i=ok. Want better ride, get a motorcycle----dirt bike with long travel suspension, maybe best. I am on 11th new maxi scooter since 1990 and over 400,000 miles with them----just remember they are scooters.

Stig-without a doubt the bigger machines have a better ride. Yesterday on the 150 Lambretta Uno going over a series of railroad tracks I would pick and choose the path that was the smoothest and correct angle for the 12" tires. The 500 Xicting rides like the proverbial Buick. Still on the 500 when you go over railroad tracks you feel the front suspension while the back seems to glide over.
John -without a doubt dirt bikes with long travel suspension have the smoothest ride. I grew up ridding Enduro's (called dual sports today). I still have a Kawasaki Versys and BMW GS dual sport.
Was talking with my neighbor last night about aging and bikes. Some times my right knee gives me some pain and to throw a leg over a tall bike can be a challenge. Not a issue with a scooter. I find myself more and more taking the scooters instead of the bikes.
Wanted to add around town I will always take a 150cc scooter for errands. Very nimble and light making it very enjoyable for around town. I occasionally will take a 150cc to Lindsborg (28 mile round trip) but for any longer of a ride the Xicting comes out.
If I had to choose just one scooter highway and town riding it would be the Grandvista 250 .

Replace the fork oil with heavier weight oil. Also shift your weight back before bumps and don't tense up.
