Was close to America with "El Cattivo" today.
« on: June 26, 2021, 02:08:08 PM »
Well dear community,
times are changing.
My red LIKE 200i found a new owner today, fortunately is there some other ride available.

Like, my latest achievement, "El Cattivo" (ital. The Bad One)  because it needs alot, as @Iahawk so nicely formulated, TLC (tender loving care). So I took him out for a roundtrip of appr. 80 kms. Behaves pretty well, despite his neclected youth.
It's modelyear 2003, carburator fed, scratched all over, wrong spares mounted, etc. (pls see pics)
Referring to, been close to America today...
City of Grado, Northern Italy. Cityharbour...
Happy and safe scootering, Ruffus

a new scooter to be rescued! Love it! Also love the pictures...I'm smiling and admiring your new scooter and beautiful surroundings while I'm sitting on my couch on a rainy Saturday morning...dreaming of sunny rides...

Ruffus,
So, you sold the red LIKE200i?
Only the blue/white LIKE200i remaining?
And now this GD. Is it indeed a two color scooter, or just wrong black front on a red scooter?
I think a scooter lift of some sort encourages mechanical tinkering for fun.

I enjoy keeping my scooters as healthy as possible - but, at my age, the crawling on my knees ( after 2 surgeries) and arms (one shoulder surgery) is much less fun than riding. I prefer to ride my scooters.
I have two scooters by default - and I'm not a collector. If that failed TPS back in 2014 had not happened with my LIKE, taking it to the shop for several months - I'd likely have only one scooter.

Anyway - enjoy your scooter repairs & rehabilitation adventures!
Can you tell us a little about the new owner of the Red LIKE?

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

@Kansas, yes I had to take this GD 150, poor orphan as it is. Riding is pretty comfy, but don't want badmouth my LIKEs. Can't say that much after 80km. But will write up.
AND: there are 10 (ten) year old tires on it, rocksolid but lots of profile. Ordered METZELER T7 already.

@Iahawk, search and rescue, that's our slogan. Simply only scooters.  Wish you a change to riding weather.

@Stig, yes blue/ white LX remaining.
It's a matter of space too, 'cause my workshop is garage too...
GD has wrong frontparts on an originally red scoot
There are other wrong and tinkered with parts, some are from an GD 50..
Okay, will be changed.
The new owner saw me riding at a neighbour citys marina and simply ask me whether I would sell her.
He's around 60 and wants to feel scootering after being without for more than 30 years. He's an actor and  comedian, regionally pretty known. So it went close to me.
I think my red LIKE came in good hands.

Ruffus, Glad you have a new project to keep you out of mischief!  Like Stig, I’m of an age where I prefer riding to tinkering. Sounds like the red one has gone to an appreciative new owner. Good.
Regards & ride safe,
Neil

@Neil, yes I have to keep myself off weird thoughts.
It's fun to do something manual. Also during my professional time I liked to show up at our project plants and put hands on, if neccesary. Particularely when on site engineers told me THAT idea would not work.
