Full reveal: I didn't always wear proper foot gear!
Too often I opted for simply slipping on a pair of leather tennis shoes when going riding.
I have a pair of tall leather work boots - but they were a pain to get into and properly laced.....so, I bailed for the sneakers sometimes.
Armored riding pants & jacket, leather gloves and helmet --- always!....but not the feet....
I decided to get my house in order and began looking for a boot I'd actually wear.
Revzilla offered these goofy ICON Stormhawk Waterproof Boots - with a unique lace system. They also have D30 armor in the ankles.
Easy - slip them on, punch the button closed and spin to snug them up. Pull the button to release and remove.
CONSEQUENTLY - I wear them every time I go riding! With a long-time shoulder/collar bone issue (landed wrong when diving into a streambed during a mortar attack - the VA said I'd need to go to the Cleveland Clinic to get the repair)(I told the Doc - since "it only hurts if I try to raise my right hand to re-enlist"
I'm good.
After 6 mos - I love 'em!
Even in size 14 - they're not too heavy.
