Averaged 22MPH for 18,000 miles
« on: December 07, 2021, 10:24:48 PM »
When I stepped off my 2012* LIKE200iLX I noted that I'd revved to 6,090 RMP's that ride, had clocked 723.4 total engine hours and has just passed 18,000 miles.
Subtracting the miles I'd put on before installing the tachometer....my average speed was 22 MPH.

No idea how that compares to others.
I spend a good bit of time taking photos while the engine is idling (@1,800 RPM)

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

I have one of those little tach/hour meters on my lawn mower, big snowblower and generator! They are pretty handy to dial in idle speeds, etc. Many people go by hours on an engine vs miles to determine oil change frequency.

At an average of 22 mph are you changing your oil approximately every 30 hours or so?

I never paid much attention to the hours, but the LIKE gets fresh oil every 600-850 miles.....so yeah. About every 30 hours.
Does not use any between changes.
