Oil Light Reset
« on: December 04, 2021, 11:33:51 PM »
Hello guys, I'm having trouble resetting the oil change light. Ususally I will press the ADJ button twice until I see the 5000k on the odometer then I will press the ADJ and MODE button together. I guess it's she's had her years of service on those buttons and they don't want to work anymore. Is there any other way that I can reset this function?

Hi Karl. Yeah holding them down for like an entire minute and nothing happens.
If I purchase a new speedo, do I lose all of my ODO history?

Yes. New one starts at zero.
I will bet the lttle pushbuttons or one of them is not working. You may be able to find which one by operating them individually if you have not already. Both doing what they are supposed to may indicate your oil pressure switch is faulty.

The ADJ seems to be working. The MODE button not working. I'm lost....., what does this have to do with oil pressure?

I managed to find a spare speedo among my parts in the garage. I wonder if I swap out the actual push buttons and lens, would this work? Does the actual problem lie within the circuit board and not the buttons?

@agilebda, maybe this link beneath which shows a digital clock change done on a LIKE 200i, helps.

Thanks very much guys. All sorted and working fine. Quick swap over and now my scoot is half as young as she was with 27k on the ODO. LOL.
