Proper front wheel installation procedure
« on: April 14, 2022, 12:37:53 PM »
Hi everyone. I'm about to reassemble the front fork and while mounting the front wheel I encountered a doubt. When I screw the axle inside, I see that there's a 2 mm gap. I explain better: as you can see in the picture, the golden axle protrudes a little from the shock seat. But I don't know how much is correct. You can slide a little the shock so that this protrusion can vary. When you reach the protrusion you want you can tighten the pinch bolts.
But how much is the correct position? Do I have to rebound a little the front fork to make it adjust naturally? If you pinch the bolts in an uncorrect position, you could damage the shock making it work (compression) not along a straight line.
Thank you
