10 yr anniversary of my LIKE200iLX soon
« on: March 19, 2023, 09:27:38 PM »
Purchased April 12, 2013.
First order of business that summer:

1) locate and install the Kymco crash bars (good thing I did - they soon became very HTF!)

2) find and install some mirrors! (long-stem set from an Italian seller)

3) stock some spares (good thing I did - kymcopartsmonster went belly up~!)

4) went exploring under the hood at 620 miles~! (new Iridium plug, engine and gear oil changes, and checked the valves)

My scoot had a faulty TPS from that small batch, circa 2012 - which was replaced under warranty. Other than that it has been 10 years of reliability. I use Kymco belts and CVT parts and it gets oil changes every 700>900 miles.
City Grips seem to last the longest.

Congrats! How many miles on the scoot, now? Have you ever had to 'test' out the crash bars during a drop?

(and also noticed you're #2 in all time posts...at your current rate of posting 3.667 per day in another 149 days you will take over the lead!)

Need to replace the bulb in the garage - but looks like the speedo says 19,989 miles.
One year after purchase the LIKE started doing 50/50 ride time with one of three other scooters (Forza, Burgman & Liberty*)
So, theoretically, if I'd only had this one scooter - & she hadn't grenaded, the mileage would be @ 40,000.
At this point - if she blew tomorrow - I'd figure it was $ well spent for the fun of 10 yrs of ownership.

The crash bars? - no, they've never been on the ground. I knew I wanted them before I bought the scooter. Liked the looks of them!
Incidentally - these KYMCO bars are somewhat studier and more solidly mounted than some after-market items I've seen installed on LIKE's  in Europe.

*None of my 4 scooters have ever been down. Only one of my 4 Honda motorcycles was ever on the ground (x 1)
Yeah - I know what they say.....

{EDIT} I forgot - my 18 yr old wife dropped our CB175 in a park in San Antonio. I think it was a twin - she broke off the sparkplug. Bruised her ego and ....her left cheek I think it was :) might have been the right. I got to practice my medical training :) ;)
