A few weeks ago I visited the dealer where I bought my AK 550. The sales person, Vern, was off that day but I did speak with the technician/shop mechanic. He mentioned that they have sold a lot of scooters of all kinds, mainly Kymco. But he had at least 4 Like 150i scooters, at that time, with speedometer cable issues. On one the issue messed up the front wheel enough to require order a new wheel. Sounds like the speedometer cable, or the nut holding it on, is normally threaded to the attachment at the wheel hub and not reverse threaded as it likely should have been. That causes the cable to become detached and get tangled up with the wheel or at least the cable broken. I'm not familiar with the Like 150i so not positive I know all that he was referring to.
Anyone here have that issue or know of it?
Maybe something to check if you have a Like 150i. Perhaps some thread lock could reduce or eliminate the problem.
