NSR: that 'free' roof
« on: June 01, 2022, 09:14:14 PM »
less my $250 deductible....

The gang swarmed my house at 07:33 today -- as my wife was rolling down the driveway.
Met the foreman, introductions all around....several of us spoke English..."rain due at @ 15:00. A problem?"
"No sir!"
I got out of their way.
By 08:25 the tear-off was completed and underlayment, ice-guard and new drip-edge commenced.

Small break as the boys took their truck down the block to jump start fellow countrymen's truck on a mowing job :)

These guys were off the roof, had finished their very thorough clean-up and were playing with their dog by 11:30.

Daughter and I moved everything back to the porch, and were enjoying lunch on the patio by 13:00hrs!
The foreman said they were off to Columbus (45miles distant) to do another house.

Felt bad - because I thought the rain forecast was going to postpone the job - I hadn't laid in enough cash to tip a group this large - 8.. I'll send a check - but it's not the same as collecting it on the job site after a hot morning in the direct sun on dark shingles.
The men did very good work.

PS: they came with a stack of fresh panels if I'd needed them - but I didn't.

When making out the check, my daughter said there were actually 10 men in the crew.
It was like trying to count cats...these guys hit the ground running!
Later we had a summer downpour!....(,heavy rain, no wind) I  checked the skylight.👀...no leaks.👍

Very professional group - every step of the way...and there were several!
Fun times inside a house while this is all taking place 🙃
Under Siege!!
