Like 200i - Removing body panels to get to the regulator
« on: July 04, 2022, 11:51:53 PM »
Hey everyone, I'm working on a 2016 Like 200 and need to get the the regulator which is up front I believe(correct me if I'm wrong). I'm having trouble removing the side panels to ultimately get to the front. Any tips on getting there? My original problem is a battery not charging, fairly new battery. I'm hoping it's not the generator but we'll see as we go.

Obtaining a service manual, like www.cyclepedia.com, will be a big help in panel removal - trouble shooting etc. your LIKE.

I looked through one a couple days ago and didn't see anything about removing them but it wouldn't surprised me if I just missed it. I'll look again. Thanks Stig!

I typed "remove body panels" in search bar of the www.cyclepedia.com manual....
"Kymco Like 200i Scooter Service Manual
Home › External Components › Front Cover

Front Cover
SAFETY FIRST: Protective gloves and eyewear are recommended at this point.

Removal
Remove these components:
Front Fender   Front Fender
Front Cover Under Cowling"

with pics

Manual is a good investment if you plan to keep this scooter. Price is @ 1/2hr of your local's shop time.

@TJ, it's not a big deal to remove this front parts.
Just remove methodically all screws around/ from
the rear of your apron, then pry tenderly parts apart, you'll see once you get the knack of, piece of cake.
There are two black plastic rivets and two additional screws on your front piece. To get to the reg, removing the fender not necessesary.
And yes, your reg is in there (pls see pics)

I got to the regulator yesterday and it's a bad boy. Thanks for all comments it helped me get the stuff off. As for the service manual, I plan on buying one. I'm keeping this bike for the foreseeable future.
Thanks again!
