Optimistic speedo
« on: October 13, 2010, 03:59:04 AM »
I'm anticipating getting myself a super 8 150 soon and I wonder if the speedo runs optimistic like my agility does.

I hear of speeds into the 50's even on the hills.
Im usually on a bicycle, so for me, this thing is hauling ass!

Kymco speedo = optimistic. They want you to think you are going fast.
ZX50, 47mm cyl. kit, TZR50 CDI. Michelin Pilot Sport tyres,
Next performance mod; pumping the tyres up.

The optimistic speedo is a safety feature to make you ride ride slower when you think you're riding fast. LOL

Yep, I checked mine against one of those digital radar signs posted that warns you of your speed, and the Kymco speedo reads about 4 - 5 mph higher than your actual speed.  At 30MPH on the speedo the radar sign said 26.
