I bought my AK in October 2021. After 2 months it started having problems with the Keyless. The keyless blue light flashes weakly and goes out for good, causing the AK to no longer recognize the key and not start. After some time, hours or days, she activates the Keyless again with the strong blue light and works again. It lasts for a month and works again. I also took it to the dealership and they didn't fix it. Annoyed, I bought a new Keyless set from china and am going to replace it to see if that fixes the problem. If not, I will sell the bike. Vespas/Piaggios have start issues which are often related to the 'antenna' near the ignition not recognizing the key. The antenna is replaced, at a modest price for the part....and the start problem is fixed. This antenna can fail like this on a pretty new scooter from what I've read. Just a thought.....
As Kymco owners, at least in the USA - we know that we will get very spotty tech support from the guys at our local dealer. So, we buy the most bullet proof models available from Kymco - knowing that WE will very likely be doing the servicing on them to keep them running.
That AK, the Mother Ship from Kymco - may just be too complicated for an American Kymco tech to fix if something goes wrong.
Yeah - I wouldn't hang onto a scooter for very long after it becomes unreliable - and dealer cannot get it sorted! I'd be looking Japanese, due to their better trained techs, factory support, and reputation for quality.
