Great moon~!

At one point in my ride this morning the moon was setting at my 2 o'clock....while the sun was rising at my 7 o'clock 🙃

I finally took a full on night ride on Wednesday...and thought of taking a 'Stig-esque' photo with my scoot and the massive moon in the background..but I didn't find the right backdrop so kept riding.

I did realize that at 35 mph I was outriding my high beams (People S200)...if something was in the road I likely wouldn't be able to stop in time to avoid hitting it...not a comfortable feeling. Night riding is not my thing but I have done a lot of early evening / dusk rides, where it's getting darker but it wasn't pitch black out. On summer evenings that is almost ideal riding!

Hawk, you don't need a 'setting'....just jump off, set your broccoli brakes and turn signal. Check for cars...then stand in the traffic for a snap of scoot mit der moon!
Yeah...best not to ride unfamiliar roads after dark. My cruise is @23>27mpg, esp. dark rainy night rides,  in the boonies.
I'm in no hurry....while enjoying the crisp air, the smells and the lightening horizons.

Stig - you're right, the smells! I love the various smells when out riding..flowers, water, backyard firepit smoke, everything that screams summer. I also love going through the various temperature changes when riding in the evening. Extra warm areas seem to drop 10 or 15 degrees when you head down into a valley or low spot.

I’d echo that Hawk, my 02:00 to dawn ride in June was a real treat to the senses. As the say, the scents, mists and temperature changes are all there just to make the ride more memorable. I must do it again before winter enfolds us again!
Regards & ride safe,
Neil
