I always enjoy videos from Fortnine..great production quality and content. My first thought as I started watching it was the electric or electric assist bicycle. Those seem to be popping up everywhere and align with his thoughts on a cheap, lightweight city commuter.

As much as most of us don't want to see internal combustion engines disappear...(and they likely won't in our lifetimes)..the clock is ticking on them.

Ask any teenager (my 12 & 15 yr old girls, for example)  if they want to drive a smelly, oily, smoky, gas powered vehicle someday...or if they'd prefer a quiet, efficient, electric powered something so they could focus on their iphone and not their driving...what do you think they will say?

As I see it, this new electric wave is opening the door for the electric companies to control the energy output like the oil companies have been doing for years.  We cant produce enough electricity as it is, so with the addition of electric vehicles, will these power companies try to rape the public by raising prices due to shortages in electric power ?? Are we moving toward total electric power faster than we can produce electric power??  Many are thinking we are moving way to fast...

fwiw, since I put the 190cc gas pig in my K-Pipe, I'm learning to live with a <75mile range

especially with the move away from nuclear power, nimby's are against everything, and their the first ones to buy electric

here in NH, we had opportunity for cheap Hydro Quebec, but the Northern Pass transmission lines were stopped cause they are unsightly, yet broken windpower on mountain tops is ok, as is a field of solar panels that produce expensive electricity

years ago, the "Clamshell Alliance" anti-nuke group were successful in stopping the second reactor at the local nuke plant

I'm actually all for electric vehicles, yes, battery technology needs to progress, that won't happen, unless more and more people demand it. I wouldn't mind seeing the highways transfer power by induction, as you drive (am I getting too futuristic?)
