Rear Brake Stuck

I pulled my left brake handle and the rear brake clamped down tight and now the rear wheel won't move at all. Left handle moves freely - it does not snap back into position. It had been sitting in the garage for over a year. No leaks anywhere I can see. Any ideas on what to do?

sounds like the rear brake caliper is hanging up. I would try to pry a little space between the brake pads and brake rotor to free it up. be careful not to scratch the rotor, then I would remove the caliper and see if the pins for the caliper are hanging up or the caliper itself. if its the caliper, replace it

for removing the caliper. But if the brakes remained locked - this may not be possible, or may be very hard to lift caliper away from the disc?

I would try "Step 2...loosening the retaining pins" just a turn or two to see if the pads might free up? Use an "L" shaped 5mm allen wrench to back them off a turn or two. Reach in there with a wood stick and tap the edge of the shoe to see if things come free.

You may very well have a seized piston.

fwiw, I have always found this to be the case,  is it worth a rebuild kit + the labor value, vs a plug n play new caliper

Old cars will have the brake line collapse and it won’t let the brake fluid return, which results in locked up brakes. Would cracking the bleeder screw help let some fluid out? Sure could be a seized piston, too. Might as well loosen it and start beating on things to get it off of there.

One of the really cool things about the 1st generation LIKE are the high quality braided brake lines which Kymco used!
