Intercom static
« on: October 23, 2022, 09:59:53 PM »
Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this. When my wife and I are riding and using the intercom, I can hear some static coming through the speakers in my Bluetooth helmet. We are both using Sena Outrush R helmets, which in my opinion, work great. She is on her own bike, so we're not sitting right next to each other. Seems that when we stop, the static stops. I am thinking this might be some kind of electrical interference coming from some system on the AK550. I have tried resetting both helmets and have even swapped helmets, and I am still hearing the static. She does not hear it on her bike.

Any experience with this or suggestions will be appreciated...

I sometimes ride with another rider on a different bike, me on my AK. We both have Sena comm units and no static heard while we ride. And I'm using Noodoe Navigation while we ride and my phone is plugged into the USB connector in the left glove box and connected to my Sena as well. His phone is also connected to his Sena. Besides us being connected together via BT so lots of BT connections involved for us. His bike also has a BT connection to his Sena but I don't think he uses that connection since he plays his music while we ride over the external speakers in his dash/faring.

Not familiar with the Sena helmets so possibly an issue with that model of comm unit? Seems strange that static stops when you stop if the bikes are still running.

I don't think it's that model, but who knows? Strange I hear when wearing hers though. That's why I thought it might have something to do with my bike. Everything else - phone, GPS, etc - no problems. I'm no electrical expert, but maybe it has something to do with when the rpm's get higher and then goes away when stopped? I'm going to try to pinpoint more precisely when this happens and stops. Thanks for the reply.
