On our dog walks we’ve noted trees unusually laden with berries this year. According to country folk lore, this is a harbinger of a harsh winter. I hope not.

Snow, hail, graupel, and a couple inches of rain but no frost. Not loving this fall one bit.

My SIL lives near Seattle....went there to marry a tall guy.*
She says the rain there is a myth 🙄 ..to keep people away.
25 yrs single...apparently it IS keeping the tall guys at bay🙃
I don't understand it.....she is an expert at everything. Just ask. She'll tell you....

Took these the day after my post to illustrate the point, but only just got round to converting them!  (The bush is a hawthorn, used extensively here for hedging, its thorns are wicked sharp and defy all but the bravest livestock!)
