Michelin city grips
« on: November 27, 2022, 01:06:14 AM »
just installed new city grip 2's on my 200 i and loving them! I always had a vibration from the plastic kendas and was hoping the new tires would change and boy did they! so excited that when I took it out today, believe it or not, in upstate NY, in November, it was smooth as glass. so excited to spend next year with a smooth ride. Highly recommend these tires for anyone who needs a change.
hoping for more warm weather but it would be out of the norm for us here. did do an oil change also. so far, up to 2100 miles and everything has been great. good scooter for the money, hope they stick around. I don't understand why America doesn't embrace the scooter industry.

Congrats on your tires. Great performing treads can make any ride more comfortable/fun.

I don’t fully understand why scooters are not more popular in the states either. They don’t even get love in the motorcycle insurance commercials (Geico/Progressive). People aren’t going to purchase items they don’t see. Not very noticeable in moto racing either. And scooter dealers are few and far between - only one that I know of in NE Ohio. Superstores, aren’t that plentiful either and feature flashy motorcycles while hiding the scooters off in a corner somewhere out of normal foot traffic.

Even manufacturers fail to adequately advertise their scooter lineup. I purchased a Vespa 10+ years ago. I receive emails from them several times each year advertising new products and special sales. Nothing from Suzuki, Piaggio, Honda, or Kymco. Does it really cost a lot of money to send out emails?

Yep -loved the City Grips on my LIKE200i - I put them on for my all weather work commutes at the suggestion of veteran members here in 2013 only a few weeks after buying my new scooter. The Kendas were removed after only 460 miles!....and resided in my garage for 9 yrs until last Thurs --- when they went to the city recycle center for $.10 a pound! (two 12" Kendas an a 13" Jetta Michelin car tire were  $3)

Scooters in the USA?....never happen G.I.!
I just make certain to purchase a scooter which isn't going to need any special servicing which I can't DIY - (my local Vespa/Piaggio dealer folded his tent while I was buying my Liberty! He took advantage of a tornado strike to get his ins. $ and rethink his decision of opening a Vespa scooter business in rural Ohio!!)

I did my research and saw that a Liberty would be an easy DIY scooter to own....while the LIKE200i has also proven to be bullet proof.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.
