Added to the garage
« on: January 28, 2023, 04:48:05 PM »
Looked to buy one of the smaller Kymcos. But dealers were distant and the over the phone pricing was not encouraging.  The local dealer is only a couple miles from my house and he gave me a very reasonable price on a new Honda PCX, the 157cc, four valve engine. Doing break-in riding and, but it's cold here so riding at less than 45 mph tolerable.  The 288 lb wet weight sure is great for around town.

Sound choice Art.  I really liked my PCX once I'd slapped some YSS Shocks on it, but in the end the 125cc versh available here just wasn't enough to haul my lard arse around!
Regards & ride safe,

Excellent scooter !
Owners loved them on the PCX forum. I read and posted there often during the time that I owned my Honda Forza.
One common grumble was the difficulty in getting to the valves for a service check. Therefore... many owners did not 'disturb' them. Ever.🙂  and with no ill effects ~ apparently.

IMHO, after owning 5, Hondas are top of the line machines.

The Honda, Helm service manual is reasonable, and I plan to get it later.  The first valve check is 4000 miles, and probably next Spring before facing the valve check. Drive belt, inspect at 8000 miles and replace at 16000.  Sure not as easy to service as a Kymco.

The RED Honda service manuals are great - maybe not inexpensive - haven't purchased one in a few years. We bought one for my Forza and for my son's CB500X.
That scoot is going to last you a long time!
