If you purchased the Westfalia camper versions of VW busses (split, bay, Vanagon or Euro) they are some of the most cared-for vehicles around. The passenger versions of the above VW's are a dime-a-dozen when compared to the resale value of these old campers!
I have a buddy in Dayton who has a pristine, unmolested, split window Westy. He built a heated garage for it! Sadly, he does no longer enjoy attending VW shows the way he used to. He must now sit by and guard his VW because other owners try to pick his NOS & rare, valuable accessories off his camper! The joy of ownership is using and 'showing' your classic - he can do neither these days.
Anyway - this one drove into my coffee village this morning. His clutch is slipping badly and the exhaust is shot....but it runs.

Stinking hot & humid, and smokey, the past week - but 60's this morning!
