NSR: final impressions of visit to Carolina Beach, N.C.
« on: June 29, 2024, 11:51:22 AM »
660 miles, each way, in a new rental Pacifica....with 2 females and my dog == a lot of stops!
Truckers through these small mountains - skilled.
My fellow Americans - idiots.

N.C. ocean and sand - very nice. But Florida is better.
N.C. folks are nice. Parking a daily nightmare.

Daughter found this large shark's tooth in the Atlantic off our rental. It is a fossil...??

I've been wearing these IZOD "Saltwater" floral shirts for a few years. In N. C. they no longer embarrassed my family! (HTF & expensive...new.. ..but I  buy them used off of ebay for much less!)

Shark's are around..... but one H_LL of a lot of tourists were drowning in the rip currents.  Like 5 in 4 days....
Our beach had a lifeguard.... from 10 to 5.

Traveling with a small dog is some limiting...keeping her off of hot sidewalks, etc.but I  hate leaving her in a kennel.  She thinks she's been abandoned.
Dog friendly places all about, these days, in tourist areas. We ate sidewalk CafĂ©  style most often. My favorite way to eat in any event. I like people watching.

Looking at that last shot, would the Tavern name carry the same double entendre over there as it would here?  Racy choice of name if so.

On the two scooters, that first one looks a treat.  Did you catch the make?

"WOLF" Islander scooter. Honda Metropolitan knock'off?

Growlers are airtight glass, steel or ceramic jugs that provide patrons with a portable, refillable vessel that can be filled up with draft beer at your favorite craft brewery and taken on the go
