update on the Burgman 'purchase'
« on: July 29, 2024, 09:44:43 PM »
I have 4 daughters* - daughter #2 came across this Burgman a few weeks ago.
After further negotiations the widow of the original owner is now offering the scooter as barter for $2K construction and painting work on her property.
It has been newly serviced, including new tires, battery and tune up. 2010, serviced every year until 2022. 7092 miles.

My daughter knows some about dirt bikes - and said the Burgman started and idled fine today.
"quieter than my car!" She rides dirt bikes with her nephews - so there is that.

I'm pushing the motorcycle safety course. I will go gear shopping with her - if she gets that far.
I still have several spares in my tool chest for a Burgman - including a manual.

Daughter is 5'6", 120lbs wet with a roll of quarters. This is a 489lb scooter. So we'll see..

I told her I can bring it to her house....but first license and insurance.

* I have 2 sons as well - but they're not as cute as their sisters. I have had a child in the house every year since 9 mos after Vietnam. At my 30 yr high school reunion in D.C. - we were there with our toddler, child #5.
When my last daughter leaves - I'm joining the circus.

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

interesting...so the Burger may not be yours but it still may join the family!? I've always been curious about the spacing / ages of your kids...the math always confused me...now it makes more sense! Never knew if you exchanged wives at some point..?

Keeping it in the family then Stig?  Good result as long as daughter #2 listens to her wise old Pop & does the training!
Regards & ride safe,
Neil
