Spade 150: Aftermarket adjustable clutch/brake levers?
« on: August 23, 2023, 08:08:24 PM »
Apparently there's these CRG clutch levers available on SteadyGarage:
https://www.steadygarage.com/products/crg-rc2-shorty-adjustable-clutch-lever-kymco-spade-150?fbclid=IwAR0GrgA3ILfF6XNfkneW2NRL-YbIXoojn-llWC6tg3aP3FrZUqDUH47U7Us
At $160, plus $120 for the brake lever, they are even pricier than the ASV option (currently listed at $239). Unfortunately, the ASV levers are currently on backorder.
By any chance, does anyone know if the CRG levers are a good alternative at all?
Also, I'm curious about the clutch perch thing – is it really so easy to just replace the stock perch with a different one, so we can have more options for non-stock levers [ASV, Grom, or any cheaper one]? Any insights would be appreciated!
TIA.

Ride safe.

Hi Stig,
Thanks for your suggestion. Yes, I certainly am considering alternatives from ebay and Amazon, but still not sure about the perch thing. No idea what to do with the safety switch (I would like to keep it).
Anyway, thanks!

Hi everybody,

Thank you for the answers and suggestions last year.

Actually, I'm still looking for aftermarket short adjustable clutch & brake levers for my Spade. Hopefully just the levers (compatible with OEM perches). If I need to replace the whole assembly (i.e. perch), one of my issues is the safety switch on the clutch, which I'd like to keep. Not sure if the few ones that include the switch would be compatible with the Spade's. Or are they universal?

Also, are the levers for certain other specific bikes compatible? (I've read that the brake lever for the Grom is compatible, but not the clutch one).

Thanks again.

Ride safe.

We foud short adjustable levers for son's bike by exactly matching the dimensions of a couple of the many sets sold on ebay. If it looks like your current levers' end, and hole sizes, thickness, etc.  match....worth a try for their modest prices.
