painting oil filter housing
« on: September 26, 2024, 06:39:43 PM »
getting antsy for projects...and the chipped paint on my Nighthawk's oil filter housing always bothered me...so during my oil change I pulled the filter housing, cleaned and degreased, scuffed and primed 3 coats and top coated with 4 coats of satin black. Looks much better.

Well heck Hawk,
That's the cat's pajamas!
Yeah, I've painted a few things on each of my scoots - a few to repair finishes, others because I wanted a different look.

Burgman belt cover, LIKE muffler and heat shield, etc.

I quickly went right after the too much black on my S model Liberty. It came with special black trim.
Painted the heat shield gun-metal to match the rear suspension bits, swapped the mirrors out for chrome, etc.
picking it up at the dealer.....

Gun-metal....

Added Honda script graphics, and painted the inside of the screen black..... (the Euro Forza screens were dark - not avail. in the USA - but rattle cans are!) and longer stemmed mirros from a CB500X, gold adjustable levers from Japan.

Putting personal touches on......

And, I'm feeling a little peculiar.

man, a bright red, 300cc Honda scoot...I think that's the ultimate! (amazing what a rattle can can do, huh?)
