Aftermarket windscreens - AK550
« on: March 16, 2021, 10:35:25 PM »
What aftermarket windscreens do you suggest for the AK550?  Is the stock screen best in the top or bottom position?
I will be wearing a modular helmet, and I am 5’ 10” tall. I have found a Puig screen, but nothing else as of this time.
I appreciate any recommendations for a better screen than the stock one.

Well, yes, this is an old posting but I decided to add my two cents rather than start a new thread. Hopefully, this will be of some benefit to AK550 owners who are interested in an aftermarket windscreen. I first bought the Puig windscreen and it wasn't much improvement over the stock screen. Recently, I got the Givi sport touring screen and it's a huge improvement. There is a tradeoff however in that I have to look through the top of the screen, something I've never liked, but the wind protection is totally worth it (IMHO).

Why? Have there been bad reports about that?
