Stig - WiFi & The Bomb
« on: August 18, 2016, 09:54:33 AM »
This is a two-parter:
A fav coffee shop has this WiFi password:
"We don't have WiFi."
The regulars smiled as I walked disappointedly away from the counter with my great cup of coffee my first visit.
This exchange between new guy and proprieter frequently gets amusingly complicated.....which of course is why the owner chose this password. Provides entertainment at 6:45AM.
Some of the less sociable baristas (read: teenagers) just show the customer a slip of paper with the password written on it. Takes the playfulness out of it!
Kids.

I shouldn't be surprised that youngsters these days have little sense of humor.
Faced with all the stuff they have now, and coming in their futures....
In my day it was just trying to fit under my desk, preparing for The Bomb.
Ah, the good old days.
Duck and cover.

The younger generation is generally into ironic humor, usually one that references something from popular (or their) culture. If something is funny to someone older they'll probably brush it off as not funny to them.

For me sometimes their actions and humor are little too infantile. Not immature, but a clingy-ness to things they should have let go of in
their youth.
