Vibration Question

Being a thumper the P-250 has some vibration at idle,not excessive-seams normal amount and I'm OK with that . What puzzles me is that while sitting still and idling (warming up),but past the fast idle mode, if I apply the rear brake , the vibration seems to intensify (feel through the seat,bars,etc.) This will continue even after a long idle period or even after a couple miles riding-then stop idle-same thing. Now after I have ridden for 8-10 miles this goes away. No seat or bar vibration at idle, (while rear brake applied). Has anyone else experienced this? It not much of a problem, just curious.Otherwise the scooter runs great.  ???

HAHAHA....Oh yeah and  I  torqued  every  nut  and  bolt and  I couldnt  find. It  comes  and  goes
Now  that  I  think  about it ,it hasnt happened in  a  while..It  maybe outside  temperature  related..
The opposite  of a cold  weather  dash  board  creak..

So, you have looked for where it was comming from too huh? Since you have more milage on your P-250  than I do, I guess I'll just forget about it. If the vibration changes please let me know. Thanks.

Its BACK!!!!

We  had a  35 degree  drop in  temp  yesterday  and  upon  start  up  there  it  was..Holding the rear  brake  at  idle  and a  noticable  vibration  was  felt  and was seen in  the  dance  the  top  box  did..As usual  after  a  few  minutes of riding it was gone..

This  has me  scratching  my head....I  can  live with  the  syndrome knowing its  just  a "this is  the way it is  thing"..But  I  need  to  find  out what it  is...

Just guessing, but it sounds to me like the engine is running at just the right speed for the cluch to be undecided about whether to engage or not.

Just guessing, but it sounds to me like the engine is running at just the right speed for the cluch to be undecided about whether to engage or not.
GeezerBob has a good point. Try adjusting the idle both a bit slower and higher. See if that affects the vibration.

Found it !! Had   the panels  off  and was  doing  a  valve  adjustment, took  the torque  wrench  to  every thing in  sight..

 Front  engine  mount took  nearly  a  full  turn  off  the  torque  wrench..Vibration is  gone!!!! Cold  or warm

Hey thanks Oldbull, I will check mine. But since I'm  not due for a valve adjustment,do I need to remove my body panels to get to the front mount? or can I weasel in a socket or wrench? I'm being lazy as I haven't gone out to look for myself. Thanks for any info.

Hey Oldbull, is the bolt your talking about the front pivot bolt? it has a 14mm bolt head and a 17mm nut. If so mine is tight, but I noticed that this rubber pivot mount (that this bolt goes through) has some flex in it-as I can grab the rear wheel and move side to side the whole engine/trans unit ( very small amount mind you), can't see, it but can feel it at the pivot/frame junction. This doesn't seem right as it would probably want to wallow if pushed hard into a turn. But the bolt is TIGHT. I did not check the other bolts around the various mounting points yet.
