Day Two
« on: June 10, 2011, 12:50:32 PM »
Day 2 with my new Yager, or should I call it an Ager since that is what it looks like on the bike.  It took me about 25 minutes to do my first  pre-ride check this AM.  I also had to tighten my L mirror.  A 15 mm open end wrench did it.  Just lift the boot and there is the nut.  Nothing to it.  I put about 20 miles on it yesterday and since I am also a new rider, there’s much to learn.  I got in a lot of press & roll practice so that's a good thing.  Now to find a place to practice fast stops.  If I ever get the ignition switch down that will be a good start.  Checking the coolant level was a snap, Good thinking by whoever came up with it.  I will not make this a diary so you won't have to put up  with me every day.

Stay safe and let's hit the bricks.

Your coolant level will only drop a little. I'm on my 10 month nearing 4000 miles, and its above the half way point. Keep an eye on your brake fluid levels and of course always check your oil.

My day two.

It's raining :-(

I rode a Honda Shadow 750 for a while.  When I started riding the Yager, I instinctively tried to step on the rear brake with my right foot.  When approaching an intersection I instrinctively tried to downshift with my left foot.

It was a wierd feeling but it reminded me that I am still a true blue motorcyclist.

I really like this scooter though.  Midsized, thrifty and fun.

In the motorcycle world you don't really buy a bike for its MPG rating.  A good MPG rating is only a minor factor if a factor at all.  Coolness might be the primary reason for buying a motorcycle.

When my friends ask me why I bought a scooter, I tell them it was for the gas mileage.  That goes over much better.
I did it and I'm glad.

I guess I'm a nerd, I think it's cool.  But mostly fun and my only 2 wheel experience.

I rode yesterday with my friend who has a Harley.  We cruised across the Lake Murray Dam.  The Yager 200i had no problem keeping up with the Harley.

I't been about 2 years since I've ridden.  I had forgotten how two wheels creates a rift in the Space Time Continium.  It is great!
I did it and I'm glad.
