Coil/electric question

I replaced my ignition coil after getting 20 ohms on the resistance per analogue multimeter.  After replacement it remains around 20.  Is the problem in the CDI unit?

Where are you getting the 20 ohm reading?  Did you replace the cap/boot also?

Sorry.  I rechecked it just now (2:12 pm cst) and got 1 from prong to prong on the coil and 8 from sparkplug cap to either prong on the coil.  Also, I checked the fuel.  I disconnected the line at the carburetor and cranked a few times; but no fuel.  Does that sound right?  I had excellent from the tank to the filter/pump.

Your coil should be good then.  Unhook your vacuum line and suck on it to see if any fuel comes out the other line.

Fuel ran out of the line from the filter/pump.  I cleaned the carburetor and hooked it back up.  I didn't see any broken pieces or chunks of dirt.  Do I need to prime the carburetor? 

This honey died on me at a stoplight.  I had been adjusting the idle/air earlier, but it had always started.  I replaced the sparkplug.

You can prime the carb by sucking on the vacuum line.  That will fill the bowl, otherwise it should do on it's own after cranking for a few.

Sorry, I got busy with my job.  I tried to start it until I had to re-charge the battery.  It still doesn't sound like it is getting a spark.  I rechecked the gap on the sparkplug and adjusted the idle and air on the carburetor slightly - each one 1/2 turn at a time.  Is there some other way it would just cut off?  When the kill switch is engaged - doesn't that cut off the electricity?

sounds like the same problem I had when I got the scoot out of storage. I did the same thing you did with taking the carb off and just clearing out the jets. It took a long time of kicking before it started, seriously like a straight minute of constant kicking to get it to start. I would try changing the spark plug and just keep trying to kick start it. I would have to kick it like 10 times in a row before it would start, but now I replaced my battery so I don't have to kick start it any more (at least for a while anyway).
