Installing GIVI Top Case
« on: October 05, 2008, 09:13:13 PM »
Hello, I am trying to install my GIVI top case and breaklight attachment. The case was a piece of cake, but I am having trouble with the breaklight wires. Where do I find the scooter breaklight wires? how much of the body do I need to pull off before I access them? I don't want to end up with a pile of pieces, so I have been looking for some kind of wiring manual for the 125 with no luck.

Anyone have experience wiring their top case break light?

Thanks!

Sorry no experience there.  You can usually find Kymco service manuals on CD on Ebay for pretty cheap.  Not sure if it will help you out but worth a try for a couple of bucks and handy to have around anyway.

Ok, so I decided that maybe the best way to solve this issue, is to take you all along for the ride.

I tried installing the breaklight wires again, and again I got confused and stopped :P So here is what I discovered.

Here is my scooter! A beautiful Agility 125:

To get to your engine you have to remove the seat + seat storage box. You DO NOT have to remove the seat FROM the box. Just remove the 4 bolts and the screw in the front. The screw in the front is connected to a little square bolt thing that popped off when I lifted the seat out of the frame. Nothing broke, but it was surprising.

So once the seat is off, you have access to the engine area. This is where I got stuck, because the manual I was using (http://www.scootercommunity.com.au/files/folders/bug_kymco/default.aspx ... Section 02 Frame Body Exhaust) says, "Remove Center Cover"

Ok... that doesn't help me. Are there any screws? As you can see in the picture, there seems to be some plastic tabs, but they are in there REALLY tight, and I didn't want to crack the plastic by forcing them too much. I also seem to have clear access to some wires, but nothing is labeled, so I don't know if what I am seeing is what I need access too.

So this is where I am. Do I try to force those plastic tabs? can I attach the breaklight wires to any of those wires I have access too?
