bigger jettings?

so has anyone tried fitting bigger jettings?

Planning on it. But Will i get good results?

Before on my GV tried 3 bigger sizes than stock but  didn't  performed well so i ruturned to stock even though i had a polini 300cc block and an after market pipe.

I have an 07 XC500 add a aftermarket muffler I made to fit and a K&N air filter and I am still running stock jetting I pull hard and I have yet to find out exactly how fast my bike will run after these mods. Also I am still getting 46 mpg in town.

tried a 128 jet size. At first  i didn't adjust the a/f mixture..  take-off power improved to mid range.. After  a few more tweaks i think a got it right... Fingers crossed..

Also have an aftermarket pipe..

Btw you guys should check the top screw of the front shocks. Replaced my fork oil yesterday and was surprised both screws can be loosen just by hand!

Arkie,

Where did you fine the K&N air filter?  I talked with K&N on the phone and they say they do not make an air filter for the 500 xciting.  My is an '09.

is there a k&n air filter for the x500? Thought they only make oil filters..

Think i finally hit the sweet spot on the a/f mixture..  now I'm inlove all over again with my x500..

Just don't mind the fuel guage...

I did away with my airbox and did some measuring I found one that would fit the intake tube with a short piece of exhaust pipe and would fit between the trunk box and the body I have pictures somewhere Ill find them and post them to my facebook page. I am the worlds worst to be told that something wont work because I will try my hardest to prove one wrong
