Can anyone please teach me how to derestrict the CDI on my 09 STING formerly known as the YUP.I have located the CDI box,I know it should be the green wire but I found a dark green and a light green.Which one to disconnect? Can't keep up with the 35mph traffic....Heeeeelp..

Not sure which wire you need cos I have an agility but dont expect huge gains just by cutting the cdi. I only got a couple of mph on my agility after cutting mine. You will need to do a full derestrict to get anywhere near 50mph.

Surely there must be a post on how to fully derestrict your scoot? If you find it then do that and you should get the results you want.

Is one of the green wires going nowhere, as in stops at the plug? If so it might be like the zx50, bridge the dark green and light green wires together, this will cancel the rev limiter. Make sure the CVT is derestricted to avoid overreving the engine.

Thanks Sid,I both have the light green and green wires,I don't see any that goes nowhere ,but the light green wire has a sleeve and a clamp like that you can disconnect without cutting,I gained a few mph when I disconnected this in the beginning while my drive boss was still restricted just to see any difference.
With my derestriction and upgrades(tecnigas next r,uni filter and Malossi variator )I'm getting 40-43 mph on level. But I'm still wondering if I derestricted my cdi correctly.

Are you only getting 40-43mph on the clock? Or is that using GPS? With your set-up I would have thought you should easily be hitting near 50mph on the clock? There must be some other restriction on your model somewhere, nothing in the forums anywhere about it?

Well about 47mph minus 3mph since our kymcos don't have very accurate speedometer.very slight down hill I can hit 52mph,downhill I've reached 55mph.
