New GV and Cold Start
« on: June 11, 2011, 06:18:14 PM »
Hello everyone. I recently bought (1 week ago) a 2009 Grand Vista 250 with just 377 miles on it. I have put roughly 100 miles on it this week. I have noticed that it takes a few tries and a little gas from the throttle to start it when it is cold. It starts right up when it is warm. Is there something I should check or adjust? Other than that, it has been a great ride with plenty of power and quite comfortable.

That doesn't sound like my GV.  It starts easily when cold.
Some times it takes 2 pushes of the starter button, but never more than that.

When hot, I may have to crack open the throttle for it to start.

I would add some SeaFoam to the fuel system.  In addition to being a fuel stabilizer, it also cleans varnishes that stale gasoline has deposited.
The small fuel jets, like choke and idle jets, are the easiest to be affected by the varnish deposits.

What is your location and color of your GV ?

Scoot safely and enjoy,
