Agility 50 V Agility 125?

Hi to all.

I've a 2007 Agility 50 which i've used 3/4 times per week for the past 2 months. Its standard with 9000mls on the clock, it starts 1st time everytime, it returns around 75/80 mpg/per £6 and runs a top speed of 34mph/56kph.

I would like it to be abit more quicker off the line and not bog/slow down so much up hills (to 20mph) especially when carrying a pillion.

Question.
1) Are my figures about right for this scooter model?
2) Is it right that it bogs down, i guess it is?
3) What are the easiest/cheapest ways to improve what I want?
4) What would the 125cc figures look like and would it still bog down?
5) Whould it be best to sell the 50 and get a 125 instead of messing with the 50. I need reliability?

I rate my Agility 50 and would recommend, the only downside being the above but probably expected for only a 50cc?

Any thoughts/views are appreciated.

P.s how much is road tax on a 125m

1) Right
2) Right. It has a 2.4kW engine and this is somewhat between a bicycle and a 125cc (Agility 125cc has 7kW).
3) Lighter roller weights increase rpm/power at the low end, resulting in better acceleration and steep uphill. Only about £10 for material, but only a slight perfomance increase.
4) Every vehicle bogs down uphill - compared to flat terrain. What speed at which gradient do you need? The Agility 125cc would still get about the same mileage as the 50cc (if not better! - I'd expect about 100mpg - because the 125cc have no 45kph restriction).
5) Yes, change vehicle. You might get a 80cc cylinder/piston too, but it's illegal in EU and with it's old cylinder head (and carb and transmission ...) it's still not as powerful and efficient as a genuine 80cc.

I had a zx50, completely different scoot, but sold that and bought a sym VS 125 and though it is not as snappy as the zx, I think it is far better. I have since put a 150 engine in simply because I got a damaged near brand new one for a good price. I'll not look back.

Thank you very much. I think i'll keep the 50 until I find a good 125 that i'll be happy with, which will give me the bit more power & umph uphills that i'd like. Otherwise i'm very happy with the Agility 50

you will get more than a 'bit' more power and umph. More like twice the take-off and much more fun. Just don't test ride one until you can afford one because you will be wanting to drive it home. Oh, go ahead and test ride one. What the hell. ;)

Standard and 100% reliable
Manual, serviced, all good.
Few small marks and 1 crack on l/h seat panel where it was knocked over.

I would love to test ride your bike but every time I ride an english bike I run head-on into a big 'lorry' that's going down the wrong side of the street.  :D

Keep that 50 until you get the 125. My ag 125 is rock solid. With a windscreen I can ride most of the year. Just can't keep the neighborhood kids off of it.

I've afew people interested and said anyone of them can buy when I find and buy a 125 (the same). I ride a Fireblade from March to October, but this little scoot is just the job and great fun for local transport. Thing with one of these, is you can get from a to b when you want to without any delays due to traffic etc :-). Done an exact fuel/miles and i'm getting 85 UK miles to the UK unleaded gallon (£6.00) . My car gets 26 for the same journey and takes 3 times longer due to the traffic, hence I now don't use the car any more in traffic and only for longer journeys. Best thing I did was to purchase this scoot :-) :-)

also rember when you go out to test drive a scoot .Test it on all kinds of roads up hills and around corners and on flat roads that might help you to knowing what you want befor buying. And check out the top end on a long streight rd to see if you like it, if the dealer wants to sale it he well let you test it.
