Cam Timing

So I'm in the process of installing my big bore kit and had to back off for a bit to wait for a part in the  mail but when I was putting it together (before taking it back apart) I noticed when I was aligning the timing marks with the head that they wouldn't line up perfectly even. When I adjusted the cam teeth one way one line would be slightly below the plane of the head and when i adjusted it the other vice versa. So the lines will not line up flush with the head!

Any input?

I don't know which way they should go, but whichever way you do go, make sure your valves don't touch the piston.

Umm, as far as ive understood, the cam should have 2 small holes and a bigger hole. When the big hole is pointing away from the motor, and the small holes pointing to each side, it is in compression stroke...
Perhaps ive misunderstood the question, but still, please upload pictures ;D

there should be a black plastic cover on top of your motor next to the carb.  under that is a bold that adjust the cam chain.

Sorry mate, in my earlier post I said head, I meant to write piston. I have corrected it in that post.

I assume you're talking about the cam chain tensioner? So this will correct the timing?

I will upload some pics this weekend when I'm toying with it. Other than this one issue everything SHOULD go smoothly, but this is a pretty important issue especially if not addressed correctly. Much appreciated gentleman/ladies

make sure you're lining up the T on your flywheel with the timing mark towards the REAR of the scoot. i had the same problem until i realizeed i was timing it 180 out lol luckily i didn't bend a valve.. when at tdc the lobes on your cam should be facing in a downward direction (as in not towards the rocker arms)
