I have problems with my temperature gauge. According to the order will never be the engine up to proper working temperature. The meter barely moves at all, even if it's a hot summer day. Is anyone else having the same problem? It could be the meter that shows the error or it is the thermostat that regulates the engine temperature which is broken. I have a People 250 model year 2007 which was hassle-free for more than 21000 km

Test the thermosensor (couples in near the thermostat) according to the test in the service manual. It's a $30 part, easily replaced.

Thanks for the tip. But I think that I fail to fix the engine temperature problem because I never noticed that the scooter in any way has gone bad. The engine purrs like a contented cat, runs smoothly and responds directly to the accelerator pedal. Fuel consumption is an average of less than 0.3 liters / mil, and it consumes almost no oil at all. I filled in with a liter of engine oil in 3 years in addition to the annual oil change in the annual service. Now begins the spring approaching in earnest here in Sweden after an extremely long and cold winter. It's almost time to finally take out scoootern of the garage. I really can not wait to drive around the city streets and enjoy the ride.

It's probably fine, then. But if you want to know with certainty, all you need is:

* Pot of water
* Heat source (to boil the water... well, get it close to boiling, ~98C, I think)
* Thermometer (to check water temperature)
* Multimeter (to check value of thermosensor as temperature changes)

My People 250 does the same thing.  I didn't like not knowing what the real temperature was so I added a Trail Tech gauge and it turns out that the stock gauge, although it hardly moves, is a pretty good indicator of when the engine is truly hot.

Hmmm.  The temp gauge on my '06 P250 move around a lot.  It hovers near the top of the "lower braket," if you know what I mean while I'm scooting normally.  A 20min WOT blast up the freeway yesterday brought it to the top of that bracket.  When idling at a light (in 90* weather) it climbs well into the "higher bracket," then drops back again once I get some air through the radiator again.  Is it just my hot climate that causes these wider swings?  Or should I consider some cooling system maintenece?  (3200km)

My gauge does the same thing. I live in the midwest and the heat does have a lot to do with it. I found a change of coolant and a little water wetter helped. Also make sure your rad is clean and not all bugged up. Mine was.
